Pesty Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 June 2026

Pesty is a clipboard manager for macOS. Your privacy is the default, not a feature.

What Pesty stores

Pesty keeps a history of what you copy so you can paste it again. This history — text, links, images, files, and colors — is stored only on your Mac, inside the app's container (~/Library/Application Support/Pesty or the app sandbox container), with restrictive file permissions.

What Pesty does not do

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your clipboard history is stored in your own iCloud Drive so it can sync between your Macs through Apple's iCloud. This data stays within your personal Apple account; the developer never has access to it. Sync is off by default.

Permissions

The Mac App Store version of Pesty is fully sandboxed and requests no Accessibility or other special permissions; you paste a selected clip yourself with ⌘V.

The open-source direct-download build can optionally use Accessibility permission for a single purpose: to paste the selected clip into the app you were using. It is never used for anything else, and the feature is off unless you enable it.
